End of Morris Era at SIU Moves to Aug 31
The Southern Illinois University board of trustees announced that Morris will retire completely on August 31 after serving as President Emeritus. His sabbatical request for Sept 1 1971 to Sept 1 1973 was reportedly denied, with the university to reassign his ongoing commitments to others. The Administrative Council will draft recommendations, including the future of the president’s office, by June 30, though one source doubts that deadline will be met.
