Pink Geranium gift shop opens at Doctors' Memorial Hospital
The Pink Geranium gift shop and snack bar at Doctors' Memorial Hospital in Carbondale debuted Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. The event, organized by the Ladies Hospital Auxiliary, aimed to raise funds for equipment for the renovated pharmacy area. The 25th District Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs received 15 state awards at the IFWC annual convention in Chicago in May. Murphysboro Junior Woman's Club won first in Community Improvement with 300 dollars and in Gardens and Beautification. Thebes Woman's Club took third in Community Improvement with a 100 dollar check.

Joint meeting of three campers clubs held near Crab Orchard Lake
More than 100 people attended a joint gathering of the Away We Go Campers Club of Du Quoin the Appleites of Murphysboro and the Happy Campers of Johnston City at Crab Orchard Lake last weekend.
