Peace envoy fails to secure halt to attacks amid Gaza talks

Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas did not win militant groups to pause attacks on Israelis after a three hour meeting. Gunmen killed a Israeli child and seriously wounded a 5 year old on a highway near Qalqiliya as talks continued. Ismail Abu Shanab of Hamas said a final decision was not made and Abbas proposed a broad leadership.
