Florida State researchers claim discovery of new natural elements
Scientists at Florida State University using a particle accelerator report finding three and possibly six new natural elements heavier than uranium. The elements were detected in mica rock samples from Oak Ridge, Tennessee, with tentative naming for one as bicentennum, though confirmation is pending.
