Remembering Bob Jacobs a town mourns a slain leader
Grief and shock fill Murphysboro as Bob Jacobs is remembered as a steady local figure. Friends recall his bikers days with Hinchcliff, his service to Boy Scouts, church choir, and the community he built at Southeastern Illinois College and Shawnee facility. His widow Virginia Lowe urged joy over sorrow, while family members shared grief, memories, and a wish to honor his life with social justice.
