Registration For Draft At Eighteen Emphasized By Official
Federal law requires male citizens and most male aliens to register with the Selective Service within five days after turning eighteen. In Illinois youths currently face induction starting at age 20 or 21, but late registrants risk delinquency, fines, and immediate induction at a younger age. Early registration avoids ahead-of-turn drafting and assists medical examinations.
