Barry Smoot told Marion city council that recent and past floods on Brooking Road center on undersized drainage culverts. He urged officials to inspect projects and ensure proper engineering plans are followed to protect property values. City engineer Glenn Clarida said drainage analyses will be done after investigation.
Benton and West City officials along with the local economic development corporation and chamber of commerce have created a shared community Web site at bentonwestcity.com. The site, costing $200 annually, will host four sub pages with links to schools state agencies and local businesses while each entity controls its own content. Colter calls it a joint effort toward community development and a work in progress.
