Cairo church mourns missionary killed in Philippines
Cairo Baptist Church held a memorial Sunday for Gracia Burnham and her late husband Martin Burnham of Wichita Kansas. The couple kidnapped May 27 2001 by Abu Sayyaf guerrillas on Palawan Island were rescued with Gracia alive after a Philippine military raid. Martin died in the gunfight. Gracia credits rescue forces and condemns captors as she heals from a leg wound.

Brooklyn Jews plan armed patrols after 60 Minutes comments
Citizens armed with shotguns will patrol heavily Jewish Brooklyn neighborhoods from June 16 in response to Abdul Rahman Yasin remarks about targeting them. Rabbi Yakove Lloyd says 50 to 200 volunteers, mainly Jews, will carry shotguns in bags along with bats and walkie talkies, patrolling nightly 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. except Friday.
