Ex Nashville Hornet's pitching stings minor league foes
Detroit Tiger farmhand John Lackey, 23, has built a five game winning streak with the Montgomery Rebels in the Southern League. The right hander, 5-1 with a 1.44 ERA, fired a four hitter against the Nashville Sounds, while detailing his control, four pitch mix, and back injury. He credits his father Wil Lackey and faith for steadiness and plans to move up, eyeing Evansville or Detroit, with back care as a focus. He also helps run Bible study sessions with Rebels players and visiting clubs.
