Bend Lake Kiwanis Fun Day draws regional crowds

The 16th Annual Dave Webster Kiwanis Fun Day will be held at Harbor Oaks campground in Wayne Fitzgerrell State Park Bend Lake this Saturday starting at 9 30 a m. The event funds local efforts for mentally and physically challenged in Kiwanis Division 33 drawing up to 800 attendees with pontoon boat rides live DJ karaoke clowns and an Elvis impersonator among activities.

Arraignment in kidnapping postponed to June 20

Christopher Myers of Cobden, accused of abducting his wife at gunpoint April 7, has had arraignment postponed to 9 a.m. June 20 after his defense attorney moved to withdraw. Allen James was appointed as his new attorney. Myers faces aggravated kidnapping home invasion two counts of aggravated arson unlawful use of a weapon aggravated assault disorderly conduct and unlawful violation of a protection order.
