Migrant Workers Die in Fayetteville Truck Crash

Eighteen workers aboard a flatbed truck and a tractor-trailer collided at a highway intersection north of Fayetteville North Carolina. Seventeen people were killed and 41 laborers were aboard the truck. Driver of the tractor-trailer was only lightly hurt. The crash occurred at 7 15 am as the truck pulled into the path of the other vehicle. The scene drew witnesses and prompted ambulance calls as rescue crews worked amid flames and mangled bodies.
