Sandy Engineered defaults on high school home economics building
The Sandy Engineered company defaults on the Murphysboro Township high school's home economics building contract. The notice from I T Priesand cites material inability to fulfill the $17 635 contract, about $14 000 paid, with the bond to cover the remaining work. The bond company will decide on next steps, with no extra cost to the district. The default affects only part of the district's three phase program including a new gym and a metal workshop addition. The board had anticipated possible noncompletion and will await bond action.
