Fort de Chartres Rendezvous recalls French occupation in Illinois
The Fort de Chartres Rendezvous recreates the 1700s French trading period near Prairie du Rocher June 6-8. Activities include candlelight tours of Pierre Menard’s home, craft demonstrations, black powder gun contests, and encampment displays from American Revolutionary War and British Black Watch eras. Performances by local and regional groups accompany children's activities and a greased pole climb.
