Man Accused Of Failing To Pay 1980 Fine In Sparta
Luther Michael Prince, 25, of Sparta, was held in Randolph County jail in Chester under a county warrant for failing to pay a 1980 fine and costs. Arrested Monday by Sparta Police, he was transferred to county custody. Court records show a September 1980 reckless driving and eluding police conviction with a $259 balance and a $3,500 bond set.

Carbondale Man Faces Two Charges In Circuit Court
Carbondale resident Robert Gene Wimberly, 21, of 520 E Fisher St, charged in Jackson County circuit court with attempted burglary and tampering with a motor vehicle. He is accused of trying to pry a pickup window belonging to Jim Bain at 701 S Illinois Ave, and is held on $2,500 bond with a preliminary hearing set for 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 10 in Murphysboro jail.
