Lake of Egypt fire district tax bills omitted

A clerical error left the Lake of Egypt Fire District tax off most bills. Only 522 of 2,698 residents were charged this first year tax of 30 cents per 100 dollars, prompting supplemental bills next week to cover about 87 000 dollars for new equipment. Treasurer Henry Basco said the loan of 20 000 dollars will not be affected and the Aug 10 payment deadline remains.
