Jefferson County Crew Clear Storm Damage In Mount Vernon
Jefferson County Sheriff Roger Mulch reports a near miracle as crews and electricians press round the clock to restore power after last Friday's 80 to 100 mph straight line winds. About 12 Mount Vernon residents sought hospital care, with some treated for storm related illnesses. Power remains out in Bonnie Spring Garden Waltonville Nason and Scheller with restoration possibly by Wednesday in several areas. Ameren IP and Tri County Electric serve about 20 000 county residents, roughly half the population.
