He served as an Air Force cadet and she taught in a Wayne County one room school. The couple have five children Drinda Eric Lisa Mark and Ruston with Ruston and another child dying in 2001.

Two Men Arrested in Meth Bust in Gallatin County
Illinois State Police report an operational methamphetamine lab and lab equipment were found at the residence of James Wathen in Gallatin County. Co arrestee Robert Durham was hiding near the home. More than 50 grams of methamphetamine and about 30 grams of cannabis were seized. Both suspects face manufacture charges and are held without bond in Saline County awaiting court.

An early morning fire at 301 N Marion St in Carbondale destroyed an uninhabited house valued at about 18000. Firefighters controlled the blaze in 30 to 45 minutes and remained on site for nearly four hours in freezing temperatures as investigators from the fire and police departments work to determine the cause.
