Johnson County Denies Secession Bid For Pharoah's Gardens
Johnson County Board rejects a petition by about 75 residents of Pharoah's Gardens seeking to transfer the subdivision from Johnson to Williamson County. After legal opinions, officials say moving less than half a township requires a countywide vote in both counties, a step the board will not take. Residents argue Lake of Egypt area lacks services and isolation fuels the bid, while officials warn of precedent and tax/service implications.
