Shooting suspect in Murphysboro case continues on page one
Jackson testified he felt threatened by the boy before the shooting. He received juvenile probation and was sent to United Methodist Children's Home in Mount Vernon, returned to Murphysboro in 1995 for high school, and in January 1996 faced a hearing before Judge Schwartz where he was sentenced to the juvenile division of Illinois DOC for probation violation. He admitted to a 1995 misdemeanor retail theft. He remains in Jackson County Jail. preliminary hearing not yet set.
