Arizona I-10 bypass stirs landowners and conservation groups
In Redington and Cascabel Arizona residents oppose possible I-10 bypass routes that could cut through desert and near San Pedro River valley. Officials note routes avoid sensitive lands while environmental groups warn of habitat loss. Private and public groups have spent about 25 million to protect 40 000 acres in the San Pedro and Aravaipa valleys to preserve open space and wildlife corridors.
