Convicted offender Cavitt missing after escape charge
Gary D. Cavitt, 45, of Du Quoin, charged with escape after failing to appear to serve a nine year sentence. He is 5 feet 4 inches, 135 pounds, brown eyes and hair, driving a 1992 green Ford truck with Illinois plate 5552WD. Authorities fear he may have left the state as search expands. Kellerman said Cavitt has a suspended license and his family is unaware of his whereabouts. Cavitt was represented by Charles Stegmeyer. Perry County State's Attorney David Stanton noted possible conflict earlier but later determined not involved.
