Taylor convicted on all three counts in Marion case
Bryan M. Taylor, 41, of Herod, was found guilty by a six eight member jury of aggravated criminal sexual assault for the March 14, 1995 attack on a 20 year old Marion woman. DNA evidence linked him to the crime and he faces up to 120 years. The case relied on semen DNA findings after witnesses testified.

Air mail to Australia Asia Canada Mexico Europe Middle East and the Caribbean offers a window until Monday Dec 16. Staff expect Dec 18 to be the busiest mailing day nationwide with 280 million cards and letters. Delays after Dec 14 suggest switching to Priority Mail and after Dec 21 to Express Mail. Carbondale East Main Street post office will not have extended hours this season.

Bacon receives supervision for Franklin County death
Matthew Bacon, 23, faced a Franklin County courtroom over the death of 64 year old Howard Willis in West Frankfort. He received one year license revocation, 24 months conditional supervision, a $1000 fine, and mandatory alcohol counseling. Willis was struck while delivering newspapers on November 11, 2001 at East Main and Mulberry. BAC was 0.11 at the time of the collision.
