Little Change In County Tax Bills For 1950

Jackson County taxpayers can expect roughly the same real estate tax bills in 1950 as in 1949. County Clerk Boyd Thorp notes the 1950 multiplier is identical to 1949, keeping valuations stable and bills near last year’s. He explains that changes arise from valuation adjustments and that rural school districts may raise rates to 40 cents per $100 for state aid, with health unit taxes adding a small increase. Taxes are billed April May and due in two installments June 1 and September 1 for real estate, with personal taxes due June 1.
