Illinois coalition sues to block health care expansion
The Illinois Coalition for Jobs Growth and Prosperity sued the Blagojevich administration in Sangamon County seeking to stop a proposed expansion of state funded health insurance. The 21 page filing argues the governor lacks authority to spend funds not approved by the General Assembly. The suit projects potential nonpayment to providers and cites the plan would extend benefits to a four person family earning over eighty thousand dollars. A preliminary hearing is set for Monday.
