Belleville woodcarvers unite in growing Holzschnitzers club
Belleville Illinois AP report tells of the Holzschnitzers club formed by friends 12 years ago now nearing 200 members with ages 6 to 90. The 10th annual show drew over 10 000 attendees featuring toys to a life size wooden Indian priced at 2500 dollars. Bonnie Rasmussen, a long time freelance woodcarver, displayed work from a hospital sign to a Circus Museum wagon restoration. Demonstrations and idea swaps are regular highlights as members gather at monthly meetings led by Don Longeau and others.
