U S Officials Aroused Over Nazi Revival
Frankfurt Germany Dec 1 AP American officials warned of rising German nationalism after a high commissioner survey of 3800 Germans found nationalists growing louder with less Allied control but no evidence of a broad Nazi revival. McCloy noted areas still motivated by Nazism while most Germans favored unity with the Soviet zone but resisted communist terms. The poll showed mixed views on nationalism with 65 percent favoring patriotic nationalism without dictatorship or militarism and 20 percent opposing it.
