End of an era as parsonage site becomes parking lot

Work began Thursday to level the parsonage next to First United Methodist Church in Carbon Dale and convert the land into a parking area. The 1913 brick parsonage stood on land bought for 1000 in 1887 from John S Bridges. The Women’s Guild funded 6000 for the West Main Street parsonage. The article lists pastors who resided there from 1913 to 1967 and notes the new parsonage on Roosevelt Road and Wall Street, home to Rev Dr Lee C Morehead the church’s new pastor.
