Deadly flash flood roars through Pittsburgh area
Four people died as heavy rain overwhelmed low-lying streets and a 9 foot sewer system in Pittsburgh. A mother Kimberly Griffith and her two daughters Brenna and Mikaela died trapped in their Plum home region as water surged across Washington Boulevard. A 72-year-old Oakmont woman Mary Saflin was found in the Allegheny River. Rescue boats helped drivers, many stranded on roofs, while officials warned turn around and don’t drown.
