Lewis and Clark Narrative at Little Missouri Entry
Dated August 13 1806 Clark reached the Little Missouri river at eight in the morning observing Indians in a skin canoe below descending from a camp near the southwest side. He noted one canoe left at the camp and spotted two Indians on a hill. The Mosquitos were less troublesome that evening. Edited by Gary Moulton professor of American history.

Westport editor recalls Martha Stewart ties and garden fame
In Westport a longtime editor describes Martha Stewart as a strong presence who inspired her town’s culture yet was hard to live with. The 1805 farmhouse and four-acre garden hosted family events and TV tours while neighbors complained about film crews. Stewart says she is sad to leave the property after 30 years of memories and celebrations. Although a separate note mentions actor Louis Gross dodging a criminal mischief charge if arrestees stay out of trouble for six months, and comedian Josh Blue discussing post win excitement, the regional piece centers on Stewart’s impact and departure. The report also notes Indian director Ashutosh Gowarikar begins shooting Akbar Jodha with Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai in 16th century romance.
