Continental to expand Mount Vernon tire plant

Continental Tire North America will invest 70 to 100 million dollars over three years to expand its Mount Vernon facility. Construction starts this year on a new 250,000 square foot warehouse with capacity for about 150,000 tires, with plant upgrades and further investments planned to secure a long term future for the site and its 2,000 workers.

King Cleared as Judge Finds Him Unfit for Trial

Jonesboro Illinois Jason Kyle King walked free after a judge ruled he is unable to stand trial on 13 charges of reckless homicide and aggravated DUI causing death. The families urged higher review while noting no justice in court as the discharge was entered. The judge cited brain damage and lack of treatment options under Illinois law, stating unfit individuals cannot be punished. Assistant State's Attorney Trambley said the state had no options remaining.

Expert sheds light on Cache River past
