Hogs 300-400 lbs 28.00-31.00, 400-500 lbs 30.00-33.00, 500-600 lbs 32.00-35.00, over 600 lbs 34.00-37.00. Boars under 300 lbs 21.00-28.00, mostly 25.00-26.00, over 300 lbs 7.00-10.00.
Grain and soybean futures jumped on the Chicago Board of Trade after government crop estimates showed smaller yields than forecast. Corn surged about 5 percent to fresh highs for the season, with December contracts up 11 cents, soybeans rallied 16 cents, oats higher, and wheat up as well amid the surprise cut in US corn production.
U S stocks extend a five day gain as investors welcome the Fed decision to hold rates at 1 percent. Dow closes up 92.71 at 9310.06 amid optimism of a rebound with light volume and hopes for ongoing low rates. Nasdaq rises 25.50 to 1687.01 and S P 500 adds 9.76 to 990.35 as traders await key retail sales and consumer confidence data.
