Managers voice mixed views on split season plan
Baseball leaders react to the split season adopted after the strike. Billy Martin complains the format punishes teams that perform in the first half, while Dodgers and Yankees leaders argue it could penalize success. Philadelphia and other managers welcome a fresh start and equal opportunity for late-season effort.
