Reverend Robert L. James remembered for botany work and pastoral service
The Rev. Robert L. James, 84, longtime Carbondale botany greenhouse worker and weekend pastor, died Tuesday. He spent 37 years in botany under director William Marberry and led Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church in Sandusky, also serving as interim pastor at several area churches. He ran a landscaping business with his sons and valued sunshine in people’s lives. James was remembered by family as a loyal friend and a man ahead of his time.
