Reagan recovery slows from left lung wound hospital stay may extend
President Reagan’s recovery from a bullet wound in the left lung may be slowed by age, with doctors saying he could remain in the hospital another week until fever subsides and antibiotics stop. A man linked to the assailant of Reagan, tied to actress Jodie Foster, was charged with threatening to kill the president after a loaded revolver arrest in New York. FBI found a letter in a New Haven hotel room threatening to complete last week’s assassination attempt. Reagan remains under tight security at George Washington University Hospital and planned a hospital briefing with Sen. Paul Laxalt and James Baker on a federalism executive order turning over certain federal functions to the states.
