Bridge Unsafe for Heavy Traffic prompts county action

Court Urges paving Coquille to Myrtle Point highway plan
The county court and Myrtle Point commercial club press the state highway commission to build a surface road from Coquille to Myrtle Point similar to the Marshfield Caquille project rather than macadamizing. They seek bids for 4000 cubic yards of gravel for two miles north from Coquille to ward Fairview to be laid nine feet wide and usable year round. Fire Quickly Quenches at Jennings Home on Seventh Street
An afternoon fire at the C O Jennings residence on Seventh street was stopped by quick neighbor action before the fire department arrived. Mrs E C Roberts and Mrs Morpin helped extinguish flames from an overheated electric iron, preventing spread despite a strong north wind. Dances at Oak pavilion accompanied by improved hall comforts were held during the fair.
