The Sonora Chamber of Commerce the city of Sonora and the Lyons Club sponsor the celebration with Governor Stephens delivering the dedicatory address. An old fashioned Western barbecue was a feature of the ceremony. The cabin housed many of Twain's stories that earned him international fame.

Whitney and Extension Livestock Specialist T A Lindgren he fed 20 OS C and Chester White hogs for 119 days averaging 220 pounds finishing at 513.58 dollars with total costs 249.63 dollars, netting 263.95 dollars. Milk fed 7200 pounds and grain 9800 pounds. 224 pounds of milk replaced 100 pounds of grain for each 100 pounds gain.
