The Coos County Boy Scouts plan a two week summer camp at the Wagner ranch two miles south of Broadbent starting mid August. A swimming hole on site measures 200 by 60 feet and up to 15 feet deep with beaches. If enough scouts attend for three weeks, camp may start a week earlier. consideration given to opening the camp to other boys under Boy Scout auspices.

Superintendent Mulkey dies in tree accident near Glasgow

Veterans Gather at Port Orford for State Encampment
Twenty five to thirty cars carried Spanish War Veterans and department officers to Port Orford for the State Encampment starting today and running through Saturday. The Military Order of the Serpent plans a snake parade and initiation Friday night with several Myrtle Point vets involved. A 16 foot boa constrictor was transported in a car for use during the initiation while organizers expect about 500 veterans at the meeting and promise hospitable entertainment.
