Prof C A Davidson and pupils presented a musicale last Friday at the home of Mr and Mrs J B Stemm ler. The program, mostly memorized, offered selections from their regular study and drew much praise. A dainty lunch followed and guests felt royally entertained.
Local Red Cross urges readers in Coos County to join now and support war needs. One dollar annual membership funds national and local drives with fifty cents retained by Myrtle Point branch. District chairs listed. readers asked to join, donate, or apply at the office.
Arlie Hunt, Mrs. Ben Perry, received word that her son Artie Hunt died at McCloud California on December 14 1917. He had a healed leg infection after an August injury and surgery during which he died. The funeral was held at the Church of the Brethren with interment at the Norway Center. Born June 27 1890 on the Quequille River near Myrah Pont Oregon, he was 18 years old. He leaves a sister and other relatives.
