The Myrtle Point brass band will host a dance at The Oaks this Saturday with music by Bowers Orchestra. L. A. Billings sits in Coquille county jail awaiting trial on a charge of assault with intent to commit robbery. The alleged victim, Green, was found on the highway near Coquille in a dazed condition after a car ride with Billings and Archis Trainlets. Green was taken to the Mast hospital in Myrtle Point. Billings waived a preliminary hearing and awaits circuit court action.

Tillamook Oregon December 6 Five in interstate commerce commission s proposed increase of rates on shipments of cheese to California points would cost the cheese industry an annual loss of 106000 Tillamook county creamery association directors passed a resolution opposing the increase The new rates would raise cheese shipments from Tillamook to San Francisco and Los Angeles and would become effective January 28 The commission had earlier set December 28 as the date a one month postponement was granted If needed the association will hire an attorney to protect its interests.
