Cleanup Squad Here Wednesday
The Oregon Clean-up Squad of the U S Veterans' Bureau was here yesterday taking charge of the claims of former service men. Myrtle Point Water Project Approved For dam and pipeline construction
The state engineer approved Myrtle Point’s plan to build John Creek reservoir storing 80 acre feet for a municipal supply. A reinforced concrete dam 42 feet high and 77 feet long will form the reservoir, with a five and a half mile pipeline costing about 2000. Administrator S. S. Reed named for Oscar Reed estate probate.

Another Pioneer Passes Away
Albert Barklow an old Oregon pioneer died at his home on the South Fork Wednesday morning at 6 o'clock after months of illness. He came to Oregon in August 1872. Funeral services will be held at the Brethren Church on Sunday December 4 at 11 A M. An obituary will be published next week. The High School was closed today to avert an epidemic.

Night Train to Portland Restored After Storm Delays
The night train to Portland, halted during the recent storm, was reinstated this week. It departed Portland Tuesday night, arrived Marshfield Wednesday morning, then left Marshfield Wednesday night on its normal schedule. The Marshfield Chamber of Commerce and others protested the removal, not realizing the suspension was temporary, noting a prior winter hiatus last year.

Frank G Johnson was born March 4 1913 and died November 26 1921 at Myrtle Creek at age 8 years 8 months 22 days He leaves parents three sisters a brother a grandfather and several aunts uncles as mourners Funeral services were held at United Brethren Church Catching Creek on Sunday at 2 PM conducted by Elder Thomas Barklow with interment in Catching Creek cemetery.
