A two man confidence scheme uses a smooth talking salesman with flashy cloth bolts to tempt a farmer with a tailor made suit for 25 dollars and insists on a 15 dollar deposit. The farmer agrees, drawn by movie star style clothes and promises of better fashion.

Sixty-First Street Gets 57 New Street Lights
The city plans 57 additional 600 candlepower lights on East 61st Street between State Street and Blackstone Avenue to improve safety. Installation follows a council order. work starts soon depending on material and equipment arrival. VFW Post Adopts Tax Resolution in Illinois
Progress Post No. 2255 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars passed a resolution urging the Illinois legislature to forgive delinquent taxes, remove penalties and interest, and allow monthly installments over at least three years. Rites Held for Joseph J. Jones Former AP Executive
Funeral services for Joseph J. Jones 66 longtime Associated Press official were held at Our Lady of Peace church with burial at Mount Olivet. He died Friday night in Illinois Central hospital. Jones spent 41 years with AP, including 21 years directing press arrangements at national party conventions. Surviving are his widow Sarah and three sons Joseph Gerard John Lee and Francis Clifford.
