Robert Stritch Brother of Cardinal Dies at 56
Robert Emmett Stritch Sr. 56, of 7821 Chappel Ave., died Saturday after a six month illness. A requiem mass was held Tuesday at Holy Name Cathedral celebrated by his brother Cardinal Samuel Stritch. Burial was at Queen of Heaven cemetery. Survived by widow Nellie, son Robert Emmett Jr. of Evanston, and daughter Mary Rita. He worked for the FHA Chicago office since 1934 and lived on the South Side. He was active in real estate groups, the archbishop's veterans committee, and the Holy Name society of Our Lady of Peace church.
