Fred W Patterson was elected president of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce last Thursday to succeed William M. Devine. The South Shore YMCA drive totals surpass the $5 800 quota by $500 with all teams meeting or exceeding targets. George F. Witt announces Team 1 led by Harry J. Pulling as top performers, followed by Teams 12 led by William Hieppinger and Team 4 led by Guy Luster.

One man died and three others were injured in separate auto accidents in the Southeast community last week. At a Grand Crossing-Chatham Chamber of Commerce luncheon held at the Grove restaurant the group raised $30 for Cornell School needy children. Funds will support the milk fund or glasses for students with vision issues. The meeting also praised the Community Aid center led by Mrs. Daniel Foreman for collecting old clothing.

Southeast Economist carrier boys will be honored at a Monday evening banquet in Hamilton Park fieldhouse. About 170 Southeast and 305 Southtown boys will attend a turkey dinner with all trimmings served by the Hamilton Park Woman's Club at 6 30 pm. An extensive program is planned for the evening.
The Woodlawn Business Men's Association announces cash and merchandise prizes totaling over $1000 for shoppers. A first prize of 250 dollars, second prize of 100 dollars, and about 650 dollars in prizes will be awarded during a community program at Casino Moderne on Monday at 7 pm, with several thousand attending the month long holiday festival.
