Chicago groups to curb harmful comic books nationwide
More than 100 community organizations will be invited by the Chicago Recreation Commission to help study ways for police to control sale and distribution of harmful comic books. The move, directed by James W. Gilman, aims to mobilize civic and business groups citywide to build public support and seek voluntary censorship by publishers. A meeting will be scheduled soon to plan the campaign.

James R. Meredith 54 of the Southeast side was fatally injured when his car collided with another near Fox River Grove, forty miles northwest of Chicago.
