Sudden Ending of a Good Life in South Haven
Mrs. C. J. Monroe died unexpectedly after months of heart trouble and brief illness, with a long life of service in South Haven. She supported schools, libraries, W C T U, and the Scott Club, and was survived by five children and relatives. funeral rites were held at the Congregational church with tributes from Caroline Bartlett Crane and others, reflecting on her devotion to family and community.
