Harry M. Lockwood Buried Sunday in Lake View Cemetery
Funeral services for Harry M. Lockwood were held Sunday afternoon at three o'clock in a private ceremony attended by neighbors and close friends. Rev. E. W. Hughes led a Corinthians reading and prayer. The service ended with a graveside turnout at Lake View Cemetery. pallbearers included C. A. Runyan and J. W. Johnson among others. Charles Lasser traveled from Chicago for the funeral.

War Declared as Dora Brown Pleads Guilty
Africa entered the war Saturday and in Judge F R Cady’s court Mrs Dora Brown pleaded guilty to assault and battery after entering Mrs Jennie Smith’s workplace and accusing her of neutrality violations. Brown paid a $5 fine and was ordered to pay $3.45 in costs by tomorrow.

Alcohol and gas ruin a Hartford trio's Holland trip
Three Hartford men Edward Stoddard William Stoddard and William Crawford drove a gray runabout toward Holland on a Sunday. After colliding with a horse drawn buggy injuring none seriously they pressed on consuming alcohol and fuel. In Saugatuck they lost a tire and returned to South Haven where police arrested them. They pleaded guilty and were fined ten dollars plus four dollars and twenty cents costs. Crawford also faced Allegan authorities on a separate charge while the Stoddards raced to gather funds.

Boy Scouts Away for Camp at Rogers Creek
Troops One and Two of the Boy Scouts left today for Rogers Creek near Palisades Park to hold a ten day camp. Troop Two sailed at ten oclock aboard the Edmere captained by John Linsemeyer with Scoutmasters A D Moore and Henry Walker and accompanying adults and scouts. Troop One followed later by train to Covert then hiked seven miles to camp joining Scoutmaster E W Huches and others. Troop Three will join later in the week from Coloma Michigan.

Mr Stanard Returns Home After Fall Injuries
N A Stanard arrives home from Otsego in a wheeled chair with daughters Lena from Louisiana and Pearl from Kalamazoo. He was severely injured two weeks ago in a fall from a train platform, sustaining a broken collar bone and several ribs along with other bruises. He is improving as expected and can move about in a wheeled chair.

Funeral held for Glenn W. Dilley at Lacota home
The funeral for Glenn W. Dilley was held Friday afternoon at his parents Lacota home. A large crowd of friends attended, with young people prominent as he had been a leader. Floral tributes from Citizens State Bank of South Haven and relatives covered the casket. Rev. Frank G. Wright presided, assisted by Rev. W. R. Kitzmiller. Mrs Mabel Galbreath, Miss Lena Gilbert, Angus Gilbert and Charles Clark sang hymns, with Charles Clark at piano. Bearers were Carl Dilley, Leland Dilley, John Callaghan, George Christian, Harold Christian and Almond Dilley. Six girls in ceremony preceded the casket to the hearse and grave.

Strawberry Festival by Congregational Ladies Aid Society
