Boys Work Shows Good Training At School Exhibit
An exhibit of manual training and mechanical drawing by boys, under Mr Windoes, showcased varied cabinet making, brass work, metal bending, and early design work. The display, paired with girls’ domestic science, highlighted strong craftsmanship, growing draughtsmen, and two year progress in the program. The event noted that students finance some materials and that many pieces became their own. Washington and New York briefs follow with weather and additional notes.

Mrs Chas Lasser Died After Short Illness
Mrs Charles Lasser died last night at 6:35 after a few days of pneumonia and asthma. She grew up in Seneca Falls, moved to South Haven, and was active in multiple lodges. Husband Charles Lasser survives with many friends mourning. services to be arranged with lodge involvement.

South Haven Graduates Largest Class at Commencement
Thirty-two seniors received diplomas at South Haven high school commencement in Congregational church. President Charles McKenny of Ypsilanti State Normal College delivered “School and Life” urging value of schooling, service, and lifelong learning. Supt. Prentice lauded the class’ record, with 375 diplomas already issued previously. valedictorian Margery Williams spoke on “The Least of These” and Naomi Wertman on “The One Great Lesson.” Mean’s Orchestra provided music.

Steamship City of South Haven Returns to Run Daily
The Steamship City of South Haven arrived from Manistee and will carry passengers daily, taking over Petoskey’s runs while that boat is dry docked for hull and boiler work. The City received a warm welcome from crowds. Petoskey handles freight today and City of South Haven will go dry dock again when Servicet starts around June 28. Gobleville hosts the seventh annual Van Buren County OES outing at the opera house next Wednesday June 18 with a full schedule of addresses, music, and dances.

Valuable Gift To Our Library Atwood Collection
Over two hundred volumes were added to the City and Township Library through the generosity of Mrs Elvira Adams Atwood. The gift was received by the Library Council and listed as the Atwood Collection in catalogues. The library honors Mrs Atwood with thanks and a public acknowledgement, noting many reference works fiction travel and more. The eighth grade graduation exercises were held in the high school room with fifty one students receiving diplomas and a one act drama Our Aunt From California performed by the class.

Mrs Meachem Likely To Recover After Accident
Mr and Mrs Amos Tucker returned from Grand Rapids where Mrs Meachem was injured by falling glass in that city. It is believed she will recover though the right cheek was cut rather than the throat as some reports claimed. The wound was sewn and should heal with a scar.

Mrs S L Hoag Struck By Paralysis In City Home
Mrs S L Hoag, who had been ill with a fainting spell at her son H S Hoag’s home, suffered a stroke of paralysis last evening around six oclock. She is unconscious and in serious condition with about one chance in ten of recovery, according to the attending physicians.

Teeter's Grocery Changes Hands in Benton Harbor Transfer
Clarence Bachman of Benton Harbor buys C E Teeter's shares of Kidd Dater Grocery Co and takes over Teeter grocery in this city. Teeter remains a couple weeks to train successor. Bachman keeps the Teeter name in business, plans to live in South Haven while relocating to Benton Harbor.

Friends learn of the marriage after the couple returned from Chicago. They wed in Paw Paw on September 14, secured a license, and later Mrs Overheul stayed in Winnabow, North Carolina, then Monroe Park for the summer while her parents remained unaware.
