May Festival Outdoor Play At South Haven

The Junior High School staged an outdoor May Festival in A. S. Dyceman Park directed by Miss Margaret Lovett. Cast included Malcolm Curtis Jeanie and the Wishing Fairy with Fairies and other helpers. The tale preached happiness through service as children performed dances, games, and a fairy land sequence. Vera Abella Ruth Dunn provided music with Evarts directing games and Mrs. Merson aiding.

Mrs Sarah Eaton Dies at Hallock Home

Mrs. Sarah J. Eaton, mother of Mrs Willis Hallock, died early today at the Hallock home on Michigan avenue where she had lived for years. Funeral services are set for Saturday at 2 20 PM at the Hallock residence.

St Pauls Church Ladies Meet Friday for Closing Meeting

The Ladies Aid of St Pauls Lutheran church will meet tomorrow at 2 pm at the school house on Indiana avenue for the annual closing meeting of the summer season. Reports will be read, matters decided, and coffee and cake served by officers H Hildebrandt Lena Dieden and A Warshow. All ladies welcome to attend.

Plans Millinery Opening Next Week at Johnston Hotel

Miss Lela Elliott takes over the millinery space recently used by Miss German at the Hotel Johnston. An opening is planned for Wednesday and Thursday, June 7 and 8, with inspection and patronage invited through The Tribune. The shop is at the northeast corner of Bailey and Aylworth avenues, owned by new proprietors Orin F. Horton recently sold to them.

South Haven invites all children and youths from the area to Oakland Park next Saturday June 3 to enjoy the Wave Coast er Slide swings teeters and other devices. Park Board and city council note the effort and ask attendees to respect others and the public park.

Runaway Wagon Joins Town Rescue Of Elderly Pair

Mr and Mrs J C Parkhurst and their daughter Mrs Collins with her three children escaped unharmed after a runaway on Williams street Tuesday night. The wagon tipped throwing the adults and baby to the pavement, but bystanders including G G Squier and W C Burge stopped the horse and brought them to Dr Wiley for treatment. Parkhurst, 78, suffered scratches and bruises while Mrs Parkhurst and Mrs Collins were shaken but not seriously hurt. The horse ran on and no damage to harness or wagon occurred.

Italian Restaurant to Open Near Park This Summer

Vincent Marino, owner of the Italian Restaurant opposite Park, returned from Florida to prepare for the season. He expects to complete fittings by early June and plans a late June opening after a two week setup period.

Field Day at Paw Paw prompts special service. Train No 9 arriving at 5:35 will be held at Paw Paw till 5:30 to accommodate passengers wanting to view the games.
