Death of Mrs Martha Thompson in Reed City home
Mrs Martha Thompson died last Thursday at her daughter Mrs George Pearson in Reed City. Born June 1844 near Crosmore Canada, she endured heart and kidney illness and was a Methodist. Survived by six children including Mrs Pearson Fern Thompson W J Davidson Nathaniel Thompson and R J Thompson. Funeral held in Reed City with most children present.

Patriot Day at the Scott Club Celebrates Lincoln and Washington
The Scott Club held Patriotic Day with papers on Mount Vernon and Lincoln's Home and Monument at Springfield. Mrs. Porter contrasted the two leaders while readings featured Washington and Lincoln speeches. A school chorus from Central, Hartman and Indiana Ave sang patriotic songs under Miss Shattuck with Lula Bacon at the piano.

Pioneer Relic Meeting Promises Historical Display
The South Haven Casco Geneva and Covert Pioneer society invites residents with twenty years’ tenure to its annual meeting in Literary Hall on Wednesday March 4. A relic exhibit includes a reed instrument and a 900 pound piano, with a 52 year history. attendees are urged to contribute items and help with costs not exceeding 26 cents.
