R H Cook of Holland, chairman of Ottawa county road commissioners, visited South Haven on real estate business. Ottawa county debates the road system with a pending suit over petitions to re submit. Fifteen miles completed, seven miles accepted for reward, twenty five miles under way. Stone and screened gravel used where best. Localities distant from gravel complicate plans. policy focuses on principal lines first. Farmers along a stretch will grade two miles for a stone road. labor donated after a successful object lesson. Stone roads cost about $4,000 per mile. gravel about $2,000. State trunkline roads: 2.25 miles of stone at $9,400, with $3,700 state reward and $1,500 bridge cost, net county cost about $2,500 per mile. Cook, an enst ed county commissioner, pursues road improvements. A daughter, Irene Harriett, arrived at the home of Mr and Mrs Gifford Hughey.
